Coach Hixon-Milks was born in Scottsdale, AZ but grew up for a majority of his life in Springboro, OH. He played four years of varsity hockey and lacrosse at Springboro High School before continuing his career at the storied Onondaga Community College and University at Albany.
During his time as a Lazer, Coach Sam helped lead OCC to a National Championship as an LSM with 3 goals, 49 groundballs, and 19 CTOs in 14 games played. Including a 1 goal, 7GB, and 3 CTO performance on Final Four weekend. He earned numerous accolades, including First Team All-Region (2019) and All-American Honors (2019).
During his time at Albany Sam played in over 40 career games and covered some of the best players in the country playing against teams like Syracuse, Cornell, Maryland, Yale, and many more. In his final season Coach Sam had career highs by picking up 28 ground balls and recording 10 CTOs.
Coach Sam joined the 3d Georgia staff in March 2023 as a full-time manager. He is the head coach of the 2029 Red team and is entering his second season at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School, where he serves as the Director of Lacrosse.
Coach Sam also has an extensive background playing and coaching box lacrosse and is the Director of our Georgia Mud Dawgs Box Lacrosse program as they lead the charge in the Southeast as a premier box lacrosse program.
Coach Sam also helps direct our King of the South events portfolio including the King of the South Box Championships and King of the South Fall Showcase.
Coach Sam is an expert coach and leader. He has coached numerous national and regional events across the country, including the Lacrosse World Series Championships, Jr. PLL Master Coach, Nations Best, The Circuit, and 3d National.
Sam brings a deep passion for lacrosse, an unmatched competitive spirit for the game, and elite connections across the lacrosse landscape— helping drive growth, development, and exposure throughout the Southeast lacrosse space.
